|
EDI or Electronic Data Interchange constitutes the exchange of structured data between application systems. The objective is to reduce manual interventions, such as e.g. document entry registration, to a minimum. The data is generally forwarded by means of data transmission. In order to be able to guarantee smooth processing of exchanged data, the latter must be provided in a standardized, machine-readable format.
